My Sister Jeannie and her husband Rich's Visit--lots of fun!

I happened to come across some pics I took while "My sister Jeanie" and Rich were staying with us in April. Seems like I haven't had a breather since then, and soon our daughter and her family will be moving in with us which will make things even more hectic, but very wonderful.  First we pick up their dog on Saturday, which I'm excited about.  Never had a furry thing in this house and it really needs it.

So anyway, to get back to my sister Jeannie blog, one of the places we took them was to the Sebastian Airport where we watched several parachutists and tandum parachutists float their way down to a spot right near where we were enjoying a beer at the Airport Monkey bar.  Exciting to watch, and we had some interesting conversations with the people there, including one of the jumpers.

Another outing of ours was a Fishing Club dinner at the Sebastian Inlet where Bob volunteers.  Good food and friendly people were in attendance, at this beautiful section of Sebastian where the ocean seeps into the Indian River Lagoon.  It's actually a man-made inlet.

After the picnic, we drove to another section of the inlet, the jetty, where Bob and his buddies spend much of their volunteer time cleaning up the dock and chatting with visitors and fishermen.  Pelicans like those pictured below are everywhere, waiting for some fisherman to make a mistake or look away, and sometimes even grabbing a fish as it's being hauled in!  Hunger drives them to be little thieves, plotting and planning their next exploit.  Many fishermen feed them while cleaning their fish, therefore the "Fish-cleaning station" is the pelicans' favorite place to hang out.  It's a riot watching them try to sneak up behind someone to steal their catch, even taking it out of the fish pail.

Beautiful day, beautiful sky, lots of birds, surfers and fishermen.  And oh the sound of waves crashing nearby.  Birds mingle with people on the jetty, and fishing poles and boats are everywhere.  The fiew is spectacular, and it feels like you're on a boat with the wind in your face.

Mr. Pelican certainly would rather have a fish than my sister Jeanie!

There were lots more things we did, but have scant pictures unfortunately.

Well, that's all for now.  It was a wonderful visit with my sister Jeannie and brother-in-law Richard.  We all got lots of sun, sand and laughs.  Payed some cards too.  Had some great weather, which is the norm here in Sebastian, Florida.  What a country ... what a state ... what a town!
